It was all going so well then I had to open my mouth and say “let’s see how it goes!”. 3 months later and I’m recovering from not only a cold, but the flu and 2 chest infections. It has taken a long time to be almost rid of the one chest infection, problem is is that while I’ve been feeling cack I’ve not been able to get any painting done. With any luck this should all be behind me and I can get on with Grotsnik as I planned all that time ago.

I won’t curse myself…honest

Not the usual Valentine’s Day thing but here are a few more Orks to show I’ve been busy-ish…

Had a short batch of painting block which is now hopefully a thing of the past!
I’ve got two more Ork Boys to add to the unit I’m expanding which now puts it’s tally up to 15. I’m still hoping to get the full 30 done so I have some flexibility in which units are maxed out as well as having units for games of Apocalypse.

Onto the miniatures themselves here are the next two boys for the aforementioned unit;

To bring in this new year I’ve two W.I.P Ork Boys that will be added to the unit that was painted a few months ago.

I decided I’d had enough and finished the last Loota this evening! Now they are just being based, so when they are dry and ready I’ll post up the group shot.
Before that though here’s Loota number 5:

I’m now relieved that the unit of 5 are done and dusted (apart from the bases) and will now take a nice rest until New Year!

Been slightly busy and I’m determined to get the unit of 5 done before Christmas actually hits, so here is Loota number 3!

Another Loota

They are the bane of my existence and I’ve got too many assembled but I am pushing through with painting them and here’s the second Loota for you to see.

So that’s Loota number 2 done, just needs basing which I will do when all 5 are done.

One of the great mistakes of painting minis is in the assembly and one thing I promised I’d never do was assemble fully a figure that would be a pain in the backside to paint. Well I broke my promise to myself two years ago when I assembled my lootaz for an Apocalypse game. Needless to say they did their job wiping not only Chaos Space Marines out, but also fending off a Lictor in close combat, happy days I thought…until now.

Two years on and they’ve come through to the paint que and now I’m regretting it, they are possibly the most awkward squad I’ve ever had the displeasure of basecoating and painting.

The MOST awkward mini in history. No kidding either!

I’m now half tempted to sell on the remaining assembled Lootaz on Ebay or to a friend and buy new ones and start from scratch, I just don’t think I can stomach painting 15 of these gits up. I don’t know what to do.
I’ll see how I feel about them tomorrow and might try another to see if it’s just me being grumpy!
